Guided by SGS Qualicert, an independent body accredited by the COFRAC, itself answering to the Ministry of Industry, Mercure France, after several months of preparation, has elaborated a Services Certification.
This groundwork emerged as the primary services’ reference charter entitled, “Accueil en hôtellerie milieu de gamme” [Welcoming guests in middle-of-the-road establishments], filed in the Official Journal of 28 August 2008 and the effective certification of several regions since July 2009.
Compliance with the 107 points listed in the charter implies commitment by the Mercure staff on the following assertions:
-We handle your telephone reservation with much care, whether when directly calling the hotel or on our Websites.
- You are welcomed with a smile by professional staff 24 hours a day.
- We do our utmost to facilitate your stay in town.
- Pleasant areas are at your disposal, whether for work or for leisure.
- We pay much attention to the quality of the facilities in your bedroom.
- We propose a varied choice and a personal service for our 3 breakfast solutions.
- Your satisfaction is our concern throughout your stay, even after departure.
For our guests, it is the guarantee of finding quality service during each stay, wherever they may be.
Since August 2008, the whole network, has been initiating a well thought-out programme, aiming to adjust its operating procedures, its facilities and its services, as well to consolidate staff training.
On 6 July 2009, the 1st group of 22 hotels from North-East France, were all awarded the Certificate, followed by 16 hotels from Rhone-Alps and 23 hotels from Paris (certified on 17 September 2009).*
The regions : South East, South West and Loire are already in the “starting blocks”…
Mercure France has set the target of 100 approved hotels by end 2009, and intends to approve more than 50% of its network by end March 2010.
A label representing a multi-facetted precious stone and bearing the colours of the brand in reflection of its multiple commitments, materialises the approval award.
This label will appear soon on the Web pages of approved hotels, as well as on all sales documents.
A company motto will come to complete communication of this procedure: “Our commitment: to give all we can!”
